Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
Add breadcrumbs, egg, and milk to the meat mixture. Continuously mix until well combined.
Season your mixture with salt and pepper, then form it into a loaf shape and place it into the prepared baking dish.
In a separate small bowl, mix together ketchup and beef broth. Pour this sauce evenly over your hamburger steak.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
Once cooked, remove the baking dish from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
