Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Add breadcrumbs, egg, and milk to the meat mixture. Continuously mix until well combined.
  • Season your mixture with salt and pepper, then form it into a loaf shape and place it into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a separate small bowl, mix together ketchup and beef broth. Pour this sauce evenly over your hamburger steak.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Once cooked, remove the baking dish from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
