Main Ingredients

  • flank steak
  • broccoli florets
  • soy sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • cornstarch
  • garlic
  • sesame oil
  • vegetable oil
  • black pepper
  • beef broth
  • ginger
  • sesame seeds and sliced green onions

Instructions

Steps

  • Thinly slice the flank steak, about a quarter inch thick. Partially freeze the steak for easier slicing. Place the beef in a bowl and coat with cornstarch, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Bring a pot of water to boil. Add a pinch of salt and the broccoli florets. Blanch for 2 minutes then rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
  • In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, beef broth, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  • Heat the wok over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil. Sear the beef, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Sear them for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • Add broccoli to the wok. Pour the sauce over beef and broccoli, tossing to coat. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Turn off the heat. Drizzle with sesame oil, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

Allow your beef to marinate for at least 10-15 minutes to elevate its flavor. Serve immediately for the best texture and taste.
