Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • lo mein noodles
  • beef sirloin
  • broccoli florets
  • soy sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • sesame oil
  • garlic
  • vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

Steps

  • In a large pot, bring water to a boil with a pinch of salt. Once boiling, add the lo mein noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the noodles using a strainer, rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process, and set aside.
  • In the same pot, bring water to a boil and add the broccoli florets. Let them blanch for about 2-3 minutes until bright green but still crisp. Transfer the broccoli to a bowl filled with ice water to keep them vibrant and halt cooking. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat a wok or large frying pan over high heat and add vegetable oil. Once shimmering, add the sliced beef sirloin and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir-fry quickly for around 3-4 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same pan, lower the heat to medium and add sesame oil and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, then add the cooked noodles and toss them to coat. Return the beef and broccoli to the pan, pour in soy sauce and oyster sauce, and mix everything thoroughly. Toss until every component is well coated and heated through.
  • Plate up your homemade Beef Broccoli Lo Mein as soon as it's ready, ensuring each serving receives a generous portion of beef, broccoli, and noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds or sliced green onions for an added crunch and a pop of color. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, simply toss in a pan over medium heat or use a microwave, adding a splash of water to revive its saucy goodness.
