Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • ground beef
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • small onion
  • bell pepper
  • garlic
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • Italian seasoning
  • bread or burger buns

Instructions

Steps

  • Prepare the ingredients by dicing the onion and bell pepper, and mincing the garlic cloves. Grate the cheddar cheese if not pre-shredded.
  • In your skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for 5 minutes until onions are translucent.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until beef is browned, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Drain excess fat if necessary. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the mixture. Reduce heat to low and cover the skillet to let cheese melt, about 2 minutes.
  • To serve, toast bread or buns in the oven at 350°F for a few minutes. Spoon cheesy beef mixture onto each slice or bun.

Notes

Allow the mixture to cool before storing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat before serving.
