Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • ground beef
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • diced onions
  • diced bell peppers
  • garlic
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • sandwich bread
  • butter

Instructions

Steps

  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the garlic, onions, and bell peppers, sautéing them until soft and fragrant.
  • Add ground beef to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and any excess fat is drained. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Preheat your oven to toast setting. Lay out the slices of bread on a baking sheet. Spread butter on one side of each slice.
  • Pile the cooked beef mixture onto the non-buttered side of half the bread slices. Cover with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up. Place in the oven and toast until the cheese melts and the bread is golden brown.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. To reheat, use an oven or pan to regain crispy edges and gooey centers.
