Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Stir in garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
Heat a frying pan with oil about a quarter-inch deep. Fry tortillas until crispy. Use a spatula to fold them into taco shapes.
Drain on paper towels. Fill with beef mixture and add your favorite toppings.
Serve immediately while the tacos are warm and crispy.
