  • Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, approximately 30 seconds.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Use a spatula to break the beef into smaller pieces while cooking it until browned.
  • Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and hoisin sauce. Mix the ingredients thoroughly to combine the flavors evenly.
  • Add the diced bell pepper and shredded carrots to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are soft and the beef is fully cooked, approximately 5–7 minutes.
  • Finish by stirring in chopped green onions and seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Notes

To store leftovers, separate the beef mixture from the lettuce, and refrigerate the beef in an airtight container for up to four days. Reheat gently before serving.
