  • Start by marinating the thinly sliced beef in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors and tenderize the meat.
  • While the beef is marinating, bring a pot of water to a boil, add the broccoli florets, and blanche for about 2 minutes. Immediately transfer the broccoli to an ice bath to stop the cooking process and maintain its vibrant color.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, which takes about 30 seconds. Be careful not to burn the garlic as it can quickly become bitter.
  • Add the marinated beef into the wok with garlic. Stir-fry on high heat until the beef is browned and cooked through, approximately 5 minutes. Make sure to stir constantly to ensure even cooking.
  • Add the prepared broccoli to the wok with the beef. In a bowl, mix together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, beef broth, and cornstarch to create the sauce. Pour this sauce over the beef and broccoli. Stir until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
  • Once the sauce has thickened, adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed. Optional: sprinkle with sesame seeds for added flavor.
