  • bone-in chicken thighs
  • all-purpose flour
  • seasoning salt
  • black pepper
  • onion
  • chicken broth
  • buttermilk
  • vegetable oil
  • unsalted butter
  • garlic powder
  • Chopped fresh parsley

Steps

  • Pat chicken dry with paper towel. Dredge thighs in flour mixture, coat evenly.
  • Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken, remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter in skillet, cook onions until soft. Whisk in flour, then add broth and buttermilk.
  • Return chicken to skillet, simmer on low for 30-35 minutes until cooked.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve with rice or potatoes.

Notes

Store leftovers in airtight container. Reheat in skillet, adding broth if necessary to loosen gravy.
