Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • ground beef
  • rice
  • beef broth
  • onion
  • bell pepper
  • garlic
  • cumin
  • paprika
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil
  • fresh parsley

Instructions

Steps

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until they're softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Add the garlic to the skillet, cooking for just another minute to release its aroma.
  • Increase the heat slightly, and add the ground beef. Cook until it's browned through and crumbles easily.
  • To the browned meat mixture, sprinkle in the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to coat the beef and vegetables with these aromatic spices.
  • Add uncooked rice and stir continuously so that it’s evenly distributed among the other ingredients.
  • Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For optimal storage, allow the dish to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. This maintains the freshness and prevents condensation inside the container.
