Steps

  • Begin by preparing your rice according to the package instructions or in a rice cooker.
  • While the rice cooks, wash and prepare your vegetables. Julienne the carrots, slice the cucumber and green onions thinly.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add sesame oil. Sauté minced garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and salt and pepper. Simmer and blend flavors.
  • Divide the cooked rice into bowls. Spoon the beef mixture on top, garnish with carrots, cucumber, sesame seeds, and green onions.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in a skillet.
