Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • beef sirloin
  • broccoli florets
  • olive oil
  • soy sauce
  • garlic powder
  • ginger powder
  • salt and pepper
  • sesame seeds

Instructions

Steps

  • Begin by thinly slicing 1 pound of beef sirloin. Place the slices in a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of low-sodium soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder. Mix thoroughly to ensure each piece is well-coated. Let the beef marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  • Cut the broccoli into florets if not already done. Having uniform pieces will ensure that every floret is cooked to perfection, maintaining its nutritious crunch and vibrant color.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil shimmers, add the marinated beef slices. Stir-fry the beef quickly, ensuring that each slice is seared on the outside but remains juicy inside. This should take about 3-4 minutes. Once cooked, remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  • In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Toss in the broccoli florets and sauté them for about 4-5 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  • Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Mix everything thoroughly to combine. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Notes

Leftovers should be cooled completely before being stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This dish remains delicious for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm it in a skillet over medium flame.
