Main Ingredients

  • ground beef
  • soy sauce
  • brown sugar
  • sesame oil
  • garlic
  • ginger
  • red pepper flakes
  • green onions
  • cooked rice

Instructions

Steps

  • Gather and prepare all ingredients before starting. This will streamline your cooking process and ensure nothing is forgotten.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook your ground beef until it starts to brown. Use a wooden spoon to break it apart and ensure even cooking. Drain any excess fat.
  • Lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic and ginger to the beef. Stir them in and let their fragrant aromas fill the kitchen as they cook for about 2 minutes.
  • Pour in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir the mixture well, making sure the beef is coated evenly with the sauce. Allow it to simmer for 3–5 minutes until the flavors meld together.
  • Once the beef is perfectly seasoned, turn off the heat and sprinkle chopped green onions over the top. Serve over a bed of warm cooked rice and enjoy!

Notes

This dish can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the beef portion for up to 2 months, and pair it with freshly cooked rice when serving.
