Steps

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Sear the beef cubes in batches until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  • Add the onion and garlic to the same pot. Sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in the tomato paste, then pour in the beef broth and add thyme. Bring to a boil, then simmer.
  • Return beef to the pot and add carrots, potatoes, and celery. Simmer for about 1 hour.
  • Add peas and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.

Notes
