Steps

  • Gather all ingredients. Dice the onion and mince garlic. Cut beef stew meat into bite-sized pieces if needed.
  • Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add beef pieces and sear until browned. Set aside.
  • Add diced onions to the same pan, cooking until soft. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  • Sprinkle flour over onions and garlic, stir, then add beef broth. Scrape up any browned bits.
  • Return beef to the pan, reduce heat to simmer, cover, and cook for 30 minutes or until tender.
  • Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Stir cooked noodles and peas into beef mixture. Cook together for 5 minutes.

Notes

For optimal results, ensure beef is browned well for enhanced flavor. Try red wine for an added depth in taste.
